Love magic is the use of magic to conjure romance. Love magic is a branch of traditional magical practice that can be cast in various ways, such as by written spells, dolls, charms, amulets, potions, or rituals.
This post is going to go over how to use candle magic to perform a simple love spell. We will learn how to make a personal oil blend, select the proper herbs, the right candle, and make a sigil.
Ingredients:
A pink candle
Your personal oil blend
1 oz essential rose oil
1 oz essential jasmine oil
1/2 oz of essential geranium oil
1/2 oz of vanilla
One piece of paper
One pen or pencil
Something to carve the sigil in the candle (needle, pen, or toothpick)
A small dish, bowl, or vial for your personal oil blend
How it's done:
The first thing you will want to do is ground and center; if you do not know how to do this, check out my blog post in the basic rituals tab and click on (How to Ground and Center).
The second step is to cast your circle. Again if this is unfamiliar to you or you need a refresher go over to the tab marked basics and click on (How to Cast Your Circle).
Now that we have the necessary steps done let's start making your personal oil blend. You will want to first pour the rose oil into your container. Next, pour the jasmine oil into the container. Now pour the geranium into the container.
Hold the vanilla in your hand and empower it by charging it with your energy.
Here is an option for empowering your last ingredient if you do not know how to. If you have another way that you are more comfortable with, go for it.
(Touch) Imagine your energy flowing through your body like blood. Imagine that energy starting to flow and gather in your hand. Touch the oil, keep the intent in your mind, and imagine all of that energy flowing through your hand into the oil.
Once you have empowered your last ingredient, go ahead, pour it into the container and swirl it around.
Congratulations, you have just made your very own personal oil blend that ingredients have a strong association with love. You can use these steps to make personal oil blends associated with protection, prosperity, and other magical associations. Just choose the proper ingredients. When making a personal oil blend, use 3 to 13 elements that are associated with our goal.
Now you are going to learn how to make a sigil.
The first step is to take the pen and paper and write out your statement of intention or what you hope this spell will bring. Some good ways to start would be to write something like "I wish" or "It is my will" Below is an example of what I wrote out as my statement of intention for this spell.
"It is my will to be loved and cherished by blank (the name of your intended) as long as I adore them"
Once you have decided on what statement of intent to write down, go ahead and cross out any repeating letters.
Once you crossed out all of the repeating letters, go ahead and combine them to create a symbol. The symbol is going to look odd, but that's okay. You want to look at the letters, and while you are combining them, allow your unconscious mind to do the work. Don't try to draw a picture. Just start drawing, not knowing what's going to happen. This is what my symbol came out as.
The next step is to charge the sigil. Here are two ways you can charge the sigil. Just be aware there are many different ways to do this. Find what works best for you.
(Touch) Imagine your energy flowing through your body like blood. Imagine that energy starting to flow and gather in your hand. Touch the sigil, keep the intent in your mind, and imagine all of that energy flowing through your hand into the sigil. Let go of the sigil to cut off the energy flow.
(Breathe) Take deep, purposeful breathes. With each inhale, imagine energy flowing into your lungs with the air. Each breath gathers more and more energy, pooling in your lungs. When you feel ready, take one last deep breath and hold it. Bring the intent of the sigil to the forefront of your mind and exhale that pool of energy onto the sigil.
The Sigil is ready so onto the ritual.
Place the pink candle on your altar or area you have prepared.
Take your personal oil blend and anoint the candle with it. Do this by slowly pouring the oil onto the candle by moving from top to the middle and then the bottom to the middle.
The next step is to carve your sigil into the candle. You can use a toothpick, pen, or needle.
The last step is to light the candle. While lighting the candle, say the following:
“Goddess Venus I call upon your name as I wish to entice (Say the name of person) into my life. May they love me for as long as I adore them.”
The Ritual is Complete:
You will now want to close the circle and ground yourself. Failing to ground energy after performing magic can leave you feeling tired, anxious, or even open to a psychic attack.
Close the circle the same way you cast it after your ritual is complete. The only difference is you will walk in a counterclockwise direction to close it instead of clockwise.
Using the same tool you used before, imagine the energy coming back to your body, through your body, through your feet back into the Earth. Walk once counterclockwise around the circle before stopping at the front of where you cast your circle and say:
"The circle is open; may it never be broken"
Now ground your energy by pressing your forehead and palms to the floor. Imagine any excess energy return to the Earth.
