A sigil is a symbol created to invoke an intention and can be used for manifestation, protection, power, and much more as a quick and creative way to express magic. Some sigils have existed for centuries within history; others can be created yourself. We will go over two rituals for protection sigils and we will also learn how to make a sigil for protection.
First, let's start by learning how to make our sigil for protection.
1. Protection Sigil: Shoe Sigil of Protection
Ingredients:
A pair of shoes
A sharpie or permanent marker
One pencil
A piece of paper
Salt
How it's done:
The first thing you will want to do is ground and center; if you do not know how to do this, check out my blog post in the basic rituals tab and click on (How to Ground and Center).
The second step is to cast your circle. Again if this is unfamiliar to you or you need a refresher go over to the tab marked basics and click on (How to Cast Your Circle).
The next step is to take the pen and paper and write out your statement of intention or what you hope this spell will bring. Some good ways to start would be to write something like "I wish" or "It is my will" Below is an example of what I wrote out as my statement of intention for this spell.
"This is my wish to move through my day safely, easily, and comfortably."
Once you have decided on what statement of intent to write down, go ahead and cross out any repeating letters.
Once you crossed out all of the repeating letters, go ahead and combine them to create a symbol. The symbol is going to look odd, but that's okay. You want to look at the letters, and while you are combining them, allow your unconscious mind to do the work. Don't try to draw a picture. Just start drawing, not knowing what's going to happen. This is what my symbol came out as.
The next step is to charge the sigil. Here are two ways you can charge the sigil. Just be aware there are many different ways to do this. Find what works best for you.
(Touch) Imagine your energy flowing through your body like blood. Imagine that energy starting to flow and gather in your hand. Touch the sigil, keep the intent in your mind, and imagine all of that energy flowing through your hand into the sigil. Let go of the sigil to cut off the energy flow.
(Breathe) Take deep, purposeful breathes. With each inhale, imagine energy flowing into your lungs with the air. Each breath gathers more and more energy, pooling in your lungs. When you feel ready, take one last deep breath and hold it. Bring the intent of the sigil to the forefront of your mind and exhale that pool of energy onto the sigil.
Now that you have charged your sigil, the next step is to draw the sigil on the bottom of the shoes you selected. You can also draw the sigil on the inside of your shoe. I prefer to do this on the outside but do what works for you.
Once you complete drawing the sigil, take a second and close your eyes. Infuse your shoes with protection by closing your eyes and saying:
"I charm these shoes with protection; may they lead me in a safe direction. With the blessing of the Universe, I cast on thee, protect me from point A to infinity".
Now visualize yourself moving safely through different areas: your home and neighborhood, and places both real and imagined. Imagine a white sphere of light protecting you, with golden-white energy seeping out of your shoes.
Now you are done, the last thing you need to do is close the circle and ground your energy.
You can wear your shoes whenever you feel the need for extra protection. Be mindful of the sigil wearing off. Some believe it is okay to touch it up. I prefer to perform the spell again.
This is an example of another protection sigil. The “Protect” Sigil, can be used either on a person or object you wish too protect!
Here is a third example of how to make a protection sigil.
2. Home Protection Ritual with Sigil:
The next protection sigil we will create is up to you, but I will show you how to use it in a ritual that will protect your house and everyone who lives in it from malicious actions. This ritual will have two parts. Let's get started.
Ingredients for first part:
Three tablespoons of powdered sulfur, which you can get in any pharmacy.
Two tablespoons of myrrh powder incense.
Two tablespoons of incense powder, pine aroma.
Three tablespoons of pine needles, it is preferable that they are green.
A small black bag.
A black cord.
Your own personal protection sigil.
Ingredients for the second part:
Four peppercorns.
A handful of parsley.
Three green bay leaves.
Some cedar wood twigs.
Fine alcohol (enough to turn on the mix).
Two vegetable coals.
A dish or a container that resists heat.
A small stove or similar container where the coals can be lit.
Tweezers (to transport the coal on).
How it's done:
The first thing you will want to do is ground and center; if you do not know how to do this, check out my blog post in the basic rituals tab and click on (How to Ground and Center).
The second step is to cast your circle. Again if this is unfamiliar to you or you need a refresher go over to the tab marked basics and click on (How to Cast Your Circle).
In the first step, we will mix sulfur, incense, and pine needles in a bowl.
Then take half and place it in the black bag, together with your personal protection sigil.
Then tie everything very well with the black cord. Store this bag in a place in the house where no one has access to it. It can serve as a protective amulet for your personal use.
In the second step, the peppercorns, bay leaf, and parsley will be mixed.
Then the cedar sprigs will be placed at the oven base, and the peppercorns, bay leaf, and parsley mixture will be placed on them.
Then, light everything up. If necessary, you can use some fine alcohol once they are lit.
The charcoal must be placed on them, and everything will light up completely.
When the coals are red hot, they will be taken with the tweezers and placed in a heat-resistant container and then placed in the center of the house – for example; it can be placed on the living room floor.
Then it would be best if you opened windows so that the negative energies circulate and leave the house.
After leaving the container, long enough for the house to flood with this aroma, with the rest of the mixture from the 1st step, the burning coal will be surrounded, while requesting the necessary help so that all loved ones Living in the house are protected.
Coal will purify the home, and sulfur will eliminate everything evil.
Once the ritual is completed, collect the waste and throw it in a river, stream, or body of water.
The ritual is complete, and you should now grasp how to create your very own protection sigil.
